All Internet Gate models includes support for VPN pass-through (SSH, PPTP, IPSec ESP tunnelling mode and IPSec NAT-T
(IPSec over UDP). IX66+ models and all IX67 models can be upgraded with a VPN Server.
The Internet Gate VPN Server supports the common protocols and encryption methods in use today, including
IPSec, PPTP and L2TP VPNs as well as DES, 3DES and AES encryption. A further strength of the VPN implementation is the support for X.509
certificates, not commonly found in SOHO products
It is an easy task to set up VPN tunnels using the Intertex VPN solution. The web based user interface leads the user through all necessary steps. The
Internet Gate works as a VPN gateway and sets up the secure connection with the receiver. The computers behind the Internet Gate don't need any specific
configuration, all crypto and authentication happens in the Internet
Gate.
