Wireless Settings

Allows you to change the settings for your wireless network.

NOTE! Press "Save" after your settings!

Network Name (SSID) - Assign the Service Set Identifier (SSID). All wireless clients on the same network must use this SSID. The SSID can have up to 32 characters.

Channel - Assign the desired channel (1-14). The clients will automatically detect this channel.

Wireless Mode - Select which mode you want the driver to operate in.

Security - Enable Encryption. Choose if you want to use WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy), WPA-PSK (Wi-Fi Protected Access Pre-Shared recommended) or unencrypted. WEP and WPA-PSK encrypts and decrypts data between wireless devices. WPA-PSK has a much stronger encryption algorithm than WEP. (NOTE! Extreme security risk! Do not disable encryption - your network will be extremely vulnerable without encryption!)

WPA-PSK Passphrase - Enter the passphrase (i.e. a sentence or similar) as your WPA-PSK. NB! 8-63 characters. Data is encrypted using TKIP.

Key 1-4 - Populate the desired keys to use for WEP. The key can be any hexadecimal value (i.e. the characters 0123456789abcdefABCDEF) of your choice.

The key size is automatically detected by the length of the populated field.
  • If you want a 64 bit key, enter 10 hexadecimal digits e.g. abcdef0123.
  • If you want a 128 bit key, enter 26 hexadecimal digits e.g. 1234567890abcdef1234567890.
  • All clients on the network must use the same key number and key.
  • You can delete a key by erasing the field and click save.

Closed System - With this set, clients cannot "easily" obtain the SSID. It also makes it impossible for clients with an unspecified SSID to connect.

Café mode - When enabled, wireless clients can't see or communicate with each other.

Access Control - also known as MAC address filtering, is an additional security measurement. With access control you are able to select which wireless clients you want to grant connection. Each client has a unique MAC address (physical address). When access control is enabled only clients with an address that matches the one you have entered are able to connect.

MAC address - Enter the MAC address of the client you want to add manually. The MAC address must be in the format of six hexadecimal numbers (0-9, A-F) separated by a '-' e.g. 00-AB-12-CD-34-EF.
