SIP Settings

SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) is used to establish a multimedia session between two users.
The product is equipped with a SIP server and registrar database. Those, in cooperation with the firewall, allows SIP sessions to pass through.
On this page you can configure the behaviour of the SIP server.

Only advanced users are recommended to change the SIP settings

Users allowed to register

Enter users who are allowed to register with the SIP server. Only registered users can receive inbound SIP messages.

All "inside" users - All LAN users are allowed to register (Recommended).

Add users - Advanced users can manually specify users who are allowed to register.
User - The username of the user's SIP address (e.g. john.doe), or "*" for all usernames.
Domain - The domain name the user's SIP address (eg., or "*" for all domain names.
Registration from - IP address, specifying a location, from where the user is allowed to register.
Subnet Mask - Subnet mask, that together with the IP address specifies a IP-network, from which the user is allowed to register. Use to enable registration from any IP address. Use to specify a single IP address.

Maximum number of users - Max number of users allowed to register. Used to limit the size of the database, otherwise leave empty. Maximized to 5 in this version, contact your dealer if more wanted.
Maximum number of registrations per user - Max number of registrations (number of simultaneous different locations) for a user.
Timeout before registration expires - The registration must be refreshed within the stated time period, or it is removed. (SIP-clients manage re-registering automatically)
Call time out - A SIP session must be refreshed within the stated time period, or it is closed. Used to finish SIP-sessions there both parts have crasched. (SIP-clients can manage refreshing automatically)
Enable SIP session timer - Negotiate a SIP session timer value. The value used in the negotiation is the " Call time out "
Outbound proxy - If a special SIP proxy server is used for outbound SIP requests, enter its IP address and port here.
Use as SIP server for domain - Enter a SIP domain name that this unit shall host (e.g. Check box to enable the name.
